UFA is the largest city and capital of the Autonomous republic of Bashkortostan within the Russian Federation. The city lies in the middle-tropical convergence of the Ufa and Belaya rivers, at the convergence of those rivers. It is situated at the junction of two rivers: the Bug and the Obushka. UFA is considered the second largest city in the region of Sakhta (SAKHAT). The city has an area of approximately 1000 km squared and was established as a city and the place where the First World War began. It was then known as Vorkuta.

The main urban areas of UFA are Saint Petersburg, Ufa, Vorkuta, Zheltovsk and others. The Ufa area is located in central russia along the river Ufa. The major cities of Vorkuta, Ufa, Saint Petersburg and others have their own administrative centers. Most of the administrative centers of UFA are located near the towns of Zheltovsk and Vorkuta. Some of them are in close proximity to other large cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The Ufa is very unique in that it possesses both an urban center and a rural region. The cities of Vorkuta, Ufa, Saint Petersburg and others are urban areas whereas the Bashkortostan oblast is quite similar to the rural regions of Russia. There are also differences between the urban and the rural parts of Ufa. The urban areas in Ufa have developed into modern centers while the rural regions of bashkortostan have remained relatively undeveloped. The main differences between the urban and the rural parts of Ufa are evident in terms of infrastructure and culture.

The majority of the inhabitants of Ufa are actually Muslims although there are also some Christian, Jews and Ingushtians living in the area. The culture in ufa is predominantly Muslim but some Muslims from the surrounding regions have migrated to the region in large numbers. The Russian government has made many attempts to keep the ufa culturally Russian but at the same time keeping its historical, biblical and cultural roots intact. There are even mosques and minarets in ufa and most of them are still in traditional Soviet style. Click here for more details about ufa
